Jim has represented bankruptcy trustees, mortgage lenders, servicers, foreclosure trustees, third party purchasers and receivers. He also has experience in the areas of insurance defense and representation of government entities in tort liability cases.
Born in New York, New York in 1957, Jim received his B.A. in 1982 from the University of Colorado and his J.D. in 1986 from Southwestern School of Law.
Jim is admitted to practice in the State of California, the State of Washington, the District of Columbia and before the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals and all California Federal District Courts.
In the bankruptcy area, Jim's experience includes fraudulent transfer and preference litigation, objections to exemptions, objections to claims, objections to plan confirmation, property valuation hearings, objections to dischargeability of debt and motions for relief from the automatic stay. In the foreclosure and creditor litigation areas his experience includes the defense of wrongful foreclosure actions, receiverships, unlawful detainer actions and collection matters. In the personal injury area, he has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in premises liability and automobile accident cases.
Jim is a member of the San Diego County Bar Association and the California Bankruptcy Forum.
