Nathan Walker is a partner in the firm's Litigation/Controversy Department, and a member of the Intellectual Property Litigation Practice and International Arbitration Groups. He joined the firm in 2006.
Practice
Mr. Walker's practice focuses on intellectual property and complex commercial litigation. Mr. Walker successfully has litigated numerous patent and other intellectual property disputes involving a diverse array of technologies, including digital cameras, integrated circuits, cellular telephony, e-learning software, EDA software, biomass gasification, and angioplasty catheters. He has represented clients in dozens of cases in courts throughout the country and before the US International Trade Commission (ITC).
Recent Highlights
- Defended Chinese semiconductor foundry in patent infringement dispute before the ITC.
- Represented major wireless technology company in patent license disputes against cellular handset manufacturers, resulting in arbitration awards valued at $253 million and $134 million in favor of the client. See In re Arbitration Between InterDigital Communications Corp. and Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., 528 F. Supp. 2d 340 (S.D.N.Y. 2007); InterDigital Communications Corp. v. Nokia Corp., 407 F. Supp. 2d 522 (S.D.N.Y. 2005).
- Defended medical device company in patent infringement lawsuit involving angioplasty catheter technology.
- Represented developer of a popular Facebook application in a software ownership and copyright infringement dispute in federal and state courts.
- Represented leading digital camera company in a multi-patent infringement dispute before the ITC.
- Defended former CEO of major corporation in federal and state court lawsuits concerning stock option grants.
- Represented biofuels company in federal court lawsuit involving claims of alleged tortious interference with contractual relations and conspiracy.
