After residing in several states and countries as the son of a decorated Army helicopter pilot, I graduated from Alta High School in Sandy, Utah in 1985. I served a mission for the LDS Church in San Diego, California from 1985-1987. Married in 1989. Graduated with a Bachelors of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Utah in 1993. Earned a Juris Doctorate Degree from Willamette University School of Law in Salem, Oregon in 1996. In law school I discovered my love of the trial-by-jury as guaranteed by our Constitution, winning two prestigious trial competitions and being inducted into the Order of the Barristers (a society honoring individuals possessing excellent trial skills) and prosecuting as a law clerk for the City of Salem. In addition to excelling at trial practice, I earned a certificate in Dispute Resolution.
I have been in private practice since 1996, representing people. I practice in the areas of landlord-tenant, criminal defense and personal injury. To round my skills and give me insight, I worked for one year as a part time prosecutor for the Salt Lake County District Attorney's Office and for over ten years as a volunteer small claims court judge. I have litigated large-scale personal injury cases including product liability and pharmaceuticals. I have tried numerous civil and criminal jury trials in my career. I have litigated and negotiated multi-million dollar cases against pharmaceutical companies and insurance companies. I know how to represent people who have been injured and arrested. I know what justice is. I fight for my clients' rights and give sound legal advice. I am in my clients' corner.
I am an avid biker - I enjoy riding my mountain bike, road bike and Harley Davidson. I love flying airplanes and am a commercial pilot, with over one thousand hours of flying under my belt.
