Hon. Henry M. Wade, Former Judge
Henry Wade has been practicing law in Texas for over 20 years. He received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Southern Methodist University in 1977. He was a magna cum laude graduate of Texas Tech University School of Law in 1988, where he was a member of Order of the Coif and the Texas Tech Law Review. Henry Wade was licensed by the State Bar of Texas in 1988 and is a member of the Dallas Bar Association, State Bar of Texas, Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association and National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
From 1978-1985, Henry Wade was an officer and pilot in the United States Air Force, completing Officer Training School and serving as an instructor pilot at the United States Air Force Academy. From 1988-1989, he was a trial lawyer with the law firm of Baker Botts. As an Assistant District Attorney in Dallas and Bell Counties from 1989-1991, Henry Wade was the felony prosecutor in over 100 jury trials, including murder, aggravated robbery and drug distribution. From 1991-1995, he practiced criminal defense as a solo practitioner.
Henry Wade served as Judge of County Criminal Court No.1 in Dallas County from 1995-1998 and was elected by his peers as Local Administrative Judge to oversee both criminal and civil county courts. In 1996, he was elected as Judge of the 292nd Judicial District Court in Dallas County and handled felony cases ranging from theft to capital murder, presided over plea negotiations, bench trials and jury trials and supervised prosecutors, public defenders, court administrative clerks and the official court reporter.
