Lent, Brian S.

Jim is Of Counsel in the firm of Briggs and Morgan, Professional Association. He was a shareholder of the firm for over 20 years, and has served as the firm's vice president, a member of the board of directors, and head of the Business Law Section.

Jim represents public and private companies in acquisition transactions. He has represented buyers and sellers of companies engaged in food manufacturing and distribution, mortgage banking, data processing and management, loan servicing, banking and related financial services, insurance, transportation, heavy manufacturing, medical and dental supplies, medical devices, scientific equipment, educational services, securities brokerage, dairy processing, and Internet services.

Jim also advises a number of clients on a day-to-day basis with respect to a broad variety of commercial and corporate law matters.

Jim is a member of the Hennepin County, Ramsey County, Minnesota and American Bar associations. He is admitted to practice in Minnesota and Pennsylvania. Jim is listed in Minnesota Super Lawyers.

Born in St. Paul, Minnesota, Jim received his B.A. summa cum laude from the State University of New York. He received his law degree cum laude from the University of Michigan Law School, where he was an editor of the Michigan Law Review. Jim joined Briggs in 1985.
