As a member of the Casualty Department, Paul practices in a variety of litigation areas including premises liability, marine, automobile, condominium/community association law, and medical malpractice.Paul has assisted in all phases of litigation from initial client contact through trial.
In addition to his casualty practice, Paul has considerable experience serving as associate defense counsel for a large number of physicians, physician group practices, nurses, and hospitals in numerous complex medical negligence matters. He has worked with lead trial counsel on hundreds of complex medical malpractice matters. Paul assisted in the extensive preparation of the defense in a medical malpractice matter involving alleged negligence in the delivery of an infant at a major Philadelphia hospital where the mother sustained severe neurological damage requiring permanent in-patient care. Paul was able to achieve a settlement well within the clients' insurance coverage, despite plaintiff's demand in excess of $40 million and media exposure by local television.
Through the use of experts in family medicine, psychology, forensic pathology, handwriting, chemical analysis, and economics in a case involving the alleged failure of a primary care physician to properly treat depression resulting in the patient's suicide as well as allegations of alteration of medical records, Paul's team was able to achieve a settlement under six figures, well below plaintiff's demand in the low seven figures.
Paul graduated from Villanova University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. After graduating from college, he obtained his juris doctor degree from Widener University School of Law.
