After completing a B.A. in History at York University, he received his LL.B. from Osgoode Hall Law School. He was called to the Ontario Bar in 2002, after completing his articles at a pre-eminent Canadian law firm acting exclusively in the areas of labour, employment, education, pensions, environmental and health and safety law on behalf of management. He then practised for several years at a prominent Toronto personal injury firm representing plaintiffs in matters encompassing various types of physical and psychological injuries suffered in a wide range of circumstances such as motor vehicle accidents and occupiers’ liability claims. He also previously gained valuable exposure to insurance litigation while working for a premier insurance defence firm acting on behalf of defendants and plaintiffs in a wide variety of matters including automobile, general liability, occupiers’ liability and professional liability.
Richard is conversational in French, fluent in Spanish, and is learning Korean and has resided throughout Canada, Mexico and the United States. In his leisure time he enjoys hockey and soccer and is studying Taekwondo. His practice includes acting exclusively on behalf of plaintiffs in a wide variety of matters including automobile, general liability, occupiers’ liability and professional liability.
