Born in Houma, Louisiana, on July 23, 1960, Shea Lawrence is a member of the firm. She obtained her B.A. degree from the University of Notre Dame, her M.A. degree from Southern Methodist University, and her J.D. degree from Loyola University in New Orleans in May 1991. Ms. Lawrence was a member of the Loyola Law Review.
Ms. Lawrence was admitted to the Louisiana State Bar in 1991 and the Texas State Bar in 1992. She is also admitted to practice before all federal district courts in Louisiana as well as the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Southern and Northern Districts of Texas, and the United States Courts of Appeals for the Fifth and Eleventh Circuits. Ms. Lawrence is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, the Maritime Law Association of the United States, the Southeastern Admiralty Law Institute, the Federal Bar Association and the Association for Women Attorneys.
Ms. Lawrence practices in the areas of construction litigation, personal injury and property damages litigation, admiralty and maritime law, including handling claims under the Jones Act and the Longshore and Harbor Workers' Compensation Act, shipyard litigation, insurance defense, environmental/toxic tort litigation, and subrogation and recovery matters.
