Joe Larson is an associate attorney and a member of the banking litigation practice group.
He advises clients on various matters regarding banking and finance law, business and commercial law, and general litigation. In the past, he has represented a wide array of clients in various types of law, including business and employment law, shipper/carrier law, product liability, toxic torts and insurance defense.
A native of St. Paul, Minnesota, Joe earned his Juris Doctor at Creighton University of Law in Omaha, Nebraska. While at Creighton, he was a member of the Board of Editors of the Creighton Law Review and a two-year member of the Jessup International Law Moot Court Team. His law review article, "Taming the Wild West: An Examination of Private Student Loan Consolidation Companies' Violation of Section 43(a) of the Lanham Act by Using Trade Names and Logos That Closely Resemble Those Used by the Department of Education," was published in the Creighton Law Review and selected by the Burton Foundation as one of the top fifteen student written law review articles in the country for 2009. The Burton Awards, in association with the Library of Congress, is a national awards program that recognizes exemplary legal writing. During Joe's time in Omaha, he also clerked at the law firm of Gross & Welch and interned with the Honorable Laurie Smith Camp at the United States District Court for the District of Nebraska. Before his legal career, he worked as a Sales Executive for a subsidiary of UnitedHealthcare and taught college-level English classes. He has a Master of Fine Arts in Fiction Writing from Bowling Green State University and a Bachelor of Arts in English and History from the University of Notre Dame.
Joe is admitted to practice in Minnesota and Wisconsin state courts and Minnesota federal courts. He is a member of the American, Minnesota, Wisconsin and Hennepin County bar associations and serves on the Board of Directors of the Minnesota State Bar Association New Lawyers Section.
