Lisa Laukitis focuses her practice on the representation of corporations in out-of-court restructurings and chapter 11 bankruptcies. Her practice also includes the representation of secured and unsecured creditors and private equity funds in connection with restructurings and reorganizations. Lisa has a broad range of experience in restructuring matters, including the representation of clients in connection with distressed mergers and acquisitions, negotiation and structuring of out-of-court restructurings, negotiating asset-based lending agreements, drafting and implementation of chapter 11 plans of reorganization, and negotiation of cash collateral stipulations and debtor in possession (DIP) financing agreements. Lisa has litigated disputes related to the use of cash collateral, DIP financing, sales under section 363 of the Bankruptcy Code, modification of labor agreements and retiree benefits, and plan confirmation.

Lisa's experience spans several industries, including automotive, general manufacturing, promotional products, energy, telecommunications, cable, retail, and shipping. Prior to joining Jones Day, Lisa was a partner at Kirkland & Ellis LLP, where she focused on the representation of corporate debtors (including Allegiance Telecom, The Boyds Collection, Norwood Promotional Products, NRG Energy, Pierre Foods, Tower Automotive, and Trico Marine Services), as well as secured and unsecured creditors.

Lisa is a member of the Committee on Bankruptcy and Corporate Reorganization of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York. She is also a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute. She has published articles in the New York Law Journal, Financier Worldwide, and The Bankruptcy Strategist.
