Joel Laub focuses his practice on over-the-counter and exchange traded derivatives and related financing and investment transactions. He has represented banks, broker/dealers, investment funds, individuals, insurance companies, municipalities, and other end-user entities and has extensive experience drafting and negotiating a wide range of transactions, including credit default, equity, commodity and weather derivatives, synthetic investments, repurchase and securities lending agreements, guaranteed investment contracts, and custody, clearing, and prime brokerage arrangements. He advises on the implications of Title VII of Dodd-Frank for derivatives businesses.
Joel has lectured on derivatives in various venues, and he has actively participated in a number of industry initiatives through ISDA and SIFMA, including the development of The Asset Managers Forum Swaps Best Practices.
Joel has been named an Empire State Counsel 2010 Honoree in recognition of his pro bono service.
