Phillip C. Landrigan co-chairs our Business Litigation group. Phil's objective in litigation matters is to handle a matter in such a way that helps maintain a client's competitive advantage in its business. Beginning with counseling the business client concerning its legal rights and remedies, Phil often negotiates settlements with the client’s adversary, after he has command of both the law and the facts. By maintaining a focus on the client’s economic interests throughout the discovery, pretrial and trial phases of litigation, Phil has successfully resolved numerous business disputes. Phil has also been involved in signicant estate & trust litigation matters and has tried cases in the Surrogate's Court and elsewhere.
Phil regularly appears before state and federal courts in New York as well as arbitration and alternate dispute resolution forums. Phil has represented clients in disputes over their contract and financial relationships, shareholder and partnership rights, business organizations and dissolutions, claimed errors and omissions, antitrust and trade practices, intellectual property, executive compensation, employment, construction projects, and insurance coverage. Phil has also tried cases in Surrogate's Court.
