Lasitter, Moses Dow

Daniel J. Vaccaro is a partner in the Litigation Practice Group where he focuses on complex civil and criminal litigation. As a former federal and state prosecutor, he is a leading member of the firm's Government Investigations, Compliance and White Collar Criminal Defense Team. Mr. Vaccaro is also a lead litigator in the Banking and Financial Services Industry Group.

Mr. Vaccaro's government investigations related practice focuses on white collar criminal defense, corporate compliance matters, and issues of fraud, cyber-crime and identity theft. He represents targets, defendants, and witnesses at all stages of the criminal process, including preliminary government investigations, grand jury investigations, plea negotiations, trials, appeals, and parallel civil proceedings, such as SEC enforcement investigations. He has successfully represented businesses and professionals in matters involving all types of fraud and embezzlement, and handles cases involving environmental, False Claims Act, securities, trade secrets, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, and money-laundering violations.

Additionally, Mr. Vaccaro represents corporate organizations from various industries, including manufacturing, agricultural, financial services, and defense contractors, in conducting internal investigations of alleged illegal or unethical activity. He has conducted such investigations for both public and private companies. Mr. Vaccaro also provides counsel to business organizations that have been victimized by criminal activity and works to improve corporate compliance programs to avoid intervention by federal and state investigators.

On the civil side, Mr. Vaccaro has prosecuted and defended a wide variety of complex civil claims. He concentrates on large scale commercial disputes for financial institutions and the defense of product liability actions and other tort cases.

Mr. Vaccaro has conducted in excess of 135 jury and bench trials before state and federal courts, and numerous administrative and regulatory hearings before state and local agencies. He has also successfully litigated and argued before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First and Seventh Circuits.
