Born in 1938, was graduated from St. Lawrence University and Columbia Law School. Mr. Lankler served as an Assistant District Attorney in the New York County District Attorney's Office, first as a trial lawyer, later in various executive capacities, and ultimately as Chief of the Trial Division. Mr. Lankler was the New York State Special Prosecutor for the Investigation of Corruption in the New York City Criminal Justice System from 1979 to 1981 and the Executive Director and Chief Counsel to the Executive Advisory Commission on the Administration of Justice (the Liman Commission) from 1981 to 1983. In 1983, Messrs. Lankler and Siffert formed their own firm, and they joined with Mr. Wohl in 1984 to form Lankler Siffert & Wohl. Mr. Lankler has served as Counsel to the Mayor's Advisory Committee on Police Management and Personnel Policy (the Zuccotti Committee), as a member of the Mayor's Committee on the Judiciary and the Chief Judge's Advisory Committee on Criminal Law and Procedure, as a Commissioner on the New York City Commission to Investigate Alleged Police Corruption (the Mollen Commission) and as first Deputy Independent Counsel to Independent Counsel Robert B. Fiske, Jr. in charge of the Vincent Foster aspects of the Whitewater investigation. Mr. Lankler is a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers.
