Kathleen received her undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1999. She received her law degree, Magna Cum Laude, from the University of Mississippi School of Law in 2002. At the University of Mississippi, Kathleen served as Associate Articles Editor of the Mississippi Law Journal and was a member of the Moot Court Board. Kathleen returned to her hometown of Burlington after practicing law for four years in Mississippi. Professionally, she is active in the American Bar Association Young Lawyers Division, she serves on the editorial board of the American Bar Association's publication, The Young Lawyer, is the past president of the Warren County Young Lawyers Division, and is the past secretary of the Warren County Bar Association. Kathleen has actively served her community by providing free legal assistance through the Young Lawyers Division Diaster Legal Assistance Program. Kathleen was also actively involved with the Child Advocacy Committee of the Mississippi Young Lawyers Division, the Board of Directors of the Child Abuse Prevention Center, the Board of Directors of the Vicksburg Early Education Program, the Ninth District Drug Court Steering Committee, the Allocations Committee of the United Way of West Central Mississippi, and the Port City Kiwanis Club. Kathleen is licensed to practice law in North Carolina and Mississippi.
