Daniel C. Todd has practiced law as a trial lawyer since 1988, trying over 100 cases, bench and jury, in addition to resolving numerous matters through alternative dispute resolution forums, both private and governmental. He is admitted to practice before all state trial and appellate courts in the State of Tennessee as well as the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Middle and Western Districts of Tennessee, the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and the United States Supreme Court. He has lectured in the State of Tennessee in all areas of Tennessee Workers Compensation practice and procedure including appellate advocacy. He also has been called upon to offer committee testimony and technical advice on behalf of the defense bar with respect to workers compensation matters under consideration in the Tennessee General Assembly.
Mr. Todd was born in Nashville, Tennessee and attended high school at Montgomery Bell Academy where he was a National Merit Semi-Finalist, a member of the Honor Council, Captain of the football team and earned 18 hours of college credit through the AP program. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Virginia in 1983, with a Major concentration in Philosophy and Minor concentrations in Mathematics and Computer Science. He worked in the computer industry between 1983 and 1985 before attending the University of Tennessee College of Law, where he received his Doctor of Jurisprudence degree in 1988. He served as a member of the National Labor Law Moot Court Team, vice chairman of the Moot Court Board, and received the American Jurisprudence Award in Wills and Estates. Mr. Todd is a member of the Tennessee Bar Association and the primary areas of concentration in his practice have been workers' compensation, personal injury, insurance coverage and defense, and employment law.
Mr. Todd is actively engaged in community service through membership on various local school boards and committees as well as performing pro bono legal services through the Legal Aid Society of Middle Tennessee.
