Philip is a shareholder in the firm of Briggs and Morgan, Professional Association. He is based in our Minneapolis office and is a member of the Business Law Section. Philip practices principally in the areas of:
Philip is a certified public accountant, as well as an attorney. Philip represents clients in a wide range of commercial transactions, including debt and equity financing, business acquisitions and divestitures. He also counsels clients in a variety of other business matters, including shareholder agreements and general contract law.
Philip served as the business financing course chair for the Minnesota Institute of Legal Education from 2001 to 2003, and as chair of the Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church School Board and Long-Range Planning Committee. Philip currently serves on the Basilica of St. Mary Finance Committee.
Born in Denver, Colorado, Philip attended the University of Colorado and graduated with a B.S. in business administration. He received his law degree magna cum laude from the William Mitchell College of Law, where he was an associate editor of the William Mitchell Law Review and a National Moot Court Quarterfinalist.
Prior to attending law school, Philip practiced as a CPA with the accounting firm Ernst & Young, where he was a senior manager.
