Larry Thorson is a civil litigator in Phoenix, Arizona, and has been with the firm since 2002. His practice chiefly involves contract disputes, including shareholder/member/partner issues, "business divorces," and related matters. Often, these issues touch on intellectual property and other intangible business assets. Larry handles landlord/tenant matters, both residential and commercial.

- -A land owner and greyhound racer contacted Larry when a California plaintiff claimed to be the true owner of her land and wanted it placed in her name. Larry's client prevailed at trial, and he obtained a summary disposition in favor of the client on appeal.
- -A disabled man was exploited by a detective pretending to be his friend. She borrowed thousands of dollars, but when it came time to repay her debts, she claimed it was payment for services, not loans. That case went to trial and appeal and resulted in a fraud judgment against the detective, based on the case Larry prepared.
- -A Phoenix cabaret was the subject of heated ownership disputes. A disbarred attorney and his cohorts attempted to unwind a sale in order to regain control of this club. Larry helped the club owners ward off the hostile takeover attempts in state and bankruptcy courts.
- -A renter in Surprise decided to remodel the kitchen of a rental property by replacing an oven with a clothes dryer. He also drove his truck into the structure, and violated the CC&Rs on using the yard as a junkyard. Then he moved out, leaving destruction in his wake. When this nightmare tenant sued to recover his prepaid rent, the owner called Larry. Larry filed a countersuit. The client won at trial, and fended off an appeal.
No case is truly "typical,"because they all have unique facts and circumstances. Some go beyond, however, into what we refer to as "special situations."
- -removing a guardianship from a senior who was simply being overmedicated.
- -recovering a Mexican beach house as part of a six figure judgment for clients who were swindled in an investment matter.
- -obtaining roughly $1 million in wrongful death damages against the convicted husband of a murder victim. The decedent's estate was thus protected from claims by him.
- -As a freshly minted law school grad, helping defend the Constitutional rights of a class of Arizona inmates.
Larry is also licensed to practice law in Michigan (state and federal) and Colorado (state courts).
