Emily Kern received her bachelor's degree in 2001 from Pitzer College, a member of the Claremont Colleges (B.A. in Political Studies), and received her J.D. from Brooklyn Law School in 2005.
Before joining the Firm, Ms. Kern was an associate at a Manhattan law firm where she represented plaintiffs in securities class actions, including In re Royal Dutch/Shell Transport Securities Litigation, No. 04-374 (JAP) (D.N.J.) (U.S. settlement with a minimum cash value of $138.3 million with a potential value of more than $180 million, in addition to a related European settlement of $350 million).
Ms. Kern joined the Firm in 2010. During her tenure, she has worked on numerous personal injury, medical malpractice, and employment discrimination cases from inception through the appeals process, which have resulted in substantial recoveries for her clients. Ms. Kern continues to represent plaintiffs who have been injured as a result of negligence, medical malpractice as well as those who have been discriminated against in the workplace.
Ms. Kern is admitted to the Bar of the State of New York to the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.
