After having practiced law in the Upstate for four years, Paul came to Sweeny, Wingate & Barrow, P.A. Before attending law school, Paul received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Georgia, in Athens. Paul received his Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina in 1996. During law school, Paul worked as a law clerk to the Chief Legal Counsel to the Governor of South Carolina. Paul has practiced in the areas of general civil litigation, business law, estate planning, probate law, family law and real estate law. His emphasis at Sweeny, Wingate & Barrow, P.A. is in the areas of estate planning, probate and trust administration, probate and trust litigation (and appeals), business planning for closely held entities, and construction defect litigation. He is a member of the Richland County Bar and South Carolina Bar (Tax Law Section and Probate, Estate Planning, and Trust Section). Paul is a member and past President (2010) of the Columbia Estate Planning Council. He served a three-year term (2010-2012) on the Board of Directors for First Presbyterian Church Counseling Center, Inc. Paul is a native of Anderson, South Carolina. He is married to the former Kellie Crawford, also of Anderson. They have four children. Paul enjoys hunting, snow skiing, extreme fitness, and reading. He is a deacon and a Sunday School teacher at First Presbyterian Chuch in Columbia.
