Katz, Brian L.

Steven M. Karp has practiced in the personal injury field for more than 34 years. He has been a partner in an insurance defense firm (Iorillo and Karp ) and thereafter founded The Law Offices of Steven M. Karp located in Los Angeles and later in Calabasas, CA where he emphasized insurance bad faith litigation, serious accident defense, and insurance coverage work. He had longstanding insurance company clients, some for over 30 years. Mr. Karp was often approached about "switching sides" by his colleagues and in 2004 he began his current practice which consists of the representations of clients, the majority of whom have suffered serious injuries. Mr. Karp writes: "Insurance companies have the deck stacked in their favor. Jurors are skeptical. People need experienced advocates who know how cases are lost in court and the tactics insurance companies employ in order to win and achieve justice. I'm pleased to lend my talents to that fight."

Mr. Karp is a member of Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles and the Los Angeles County Bar Association. He is a former member of the Southern California Fraud Investigators Association and the Southern California Defense Counsel. He graduated from Hastings College of the Law in 1976. He has two children and a grandson and lives in Woodland Hills, CA.
