Robin Stewart concentrates her practice on representing clients in complex commercial litigation matters in both state and federal courts throughout the country, including the representation of clients in multidistrict class action cases. She has played a key role in dozens of cases where plaintiffs' request for class certification was denied. She has defended multiple actions involving consumer protection laws, failure to warn cases, breach of contract claims, and matters involving an alleged violation of antitrust laws.
Ms. Stewart has defended nationwide litigations on behalf of manufacturers of breast implants, tobacco products, prescription statins, anti-seizure drugs, and cardiac devices. She has also defended class actions on behalf of cellular, automotive, and retail companies. Moreover, Ms Stewart has successfully defended and prosecuted jury and bench trials in multiple jurisdictions in a variety of commercial litigation matters, including her latest trial victory where she received a complete defense verdict in a matter alleging $34 million in damages. Ms. Stewart possesses a unique expertise in the area of e-discovery. She frequently advises clients with respect to corporate document retention, collection, review, production, and other e-discovery related issues. She is well-known for formulating efficient and effective approaches to meeting discovery obligations. Clients and peers frequently seek her out for advice on handling large-scale document collection and management matters. In this capacity, she has done substantial work coordinating with clients’ Information Technology departments, multiple vendors, client employees, in-house counsel, and opposing counsel. In addition, she has extensive experience working with multiple litigation support vendors and document review systems. She keeps abreast of the e-discovery case law and continues to learn of the latest technologies available.
