Laura Kalur was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio and went to college in Chicago, Illinois where she graduated from Shimer College with a Bachelors of Science degree in 1997. She moved to Oregon in 1998 and received her law degree from Willamette University, College of Law in 2001. Ms. Kalur is admitted to practice in Oregon State Court and Federal Court. She is a member of the Multnomah Bar Association, the Oregon Trial Lawyers Association, the OTLA Professional negligence Group and the American Association for Justice (formerly the American Association for Justice). She volunteers as a Trial Coach for the Wilson High School Mock Trial Team, helping high school students understand and experience the legal system and develop valuable public speaking skills and experience.
Since 2002, Ms. Kalur's practice has included representing individuals and families who have been injured by medical negligence, defective products and medical devices. Ms. Kalur's practice focuses on complex medical cases. She has completed nursing course work and was a surgical veterinary assistant in college. Ms. Kalur has represented hundreds of injured and disabled clients at Social Security Administrative Hearings, Arbitration, Settlement Conferences and at Trial.
Her commitment to patients injured by medical negligence has its roots in her father and mentor, Jerome S. Kalur, formerly of Jacobson, Maynard, Tuschman & Kalur, LLP, who represented both doctors and patients in medical malpractice cases for over 35 years. She has assisted him in medical malpractice cases and continues to consult and associate with him on a case-by-case basis.
Medicine and a love of the law has been a strong influence in her life and Ms. Kalur has dedicated her practice to the representation of those injured by medical negligence and defective medical devices.
Areas of Practice
I serve injured patients and their families in a wide variety of medical negligence cases ranging from birth injuries to surgical cases. I also represent patients and their families in multi-state tort litigation involving defective medical devices.
