Jo, a Rome native, has been with McRae, Stegall, Peek, Harman, Smith & Manning since 1984. His practice areas include workers’ compensation and general litigation. Jo has handled numerous workers’ compensation claims for many large employers in the Northwest Georgia area, including Floyd County, Dollar General Corporation, Floyd Medical Center, International Paper Co., Meggitt, Tip Top Poultry, Evans Grading Co. and Shaw Industries, Inc., as well as for individuals. In addition to litigation, Jo also serves as a mediator in resolving workers’ compensation and other cases.
Jo has served as a seminar coordinator and presenter for the State Board of Workers’ Compensation and spoken at various industry group meetings. He currently serves on the Executive Committee of the Workers’ Compensation Section of the State Bar of Georgia and on the Advisory Council of the Chairman of the State Board of Workers' Compensation.
Jo is a member of the Rome Rotary Club and previously served as President of Darlington School’s Alumni Association. He is a past board member of the United Way of Rome/Floyd County and the Open Door Home. He is a former President of the Rome Bulldog Club and has served as a Deacon and as an Elder for the First Presbyterian Church of Rome. He and his wife Angie have two children and reside in Rome.
