Johnson, Chad W.

Chad W. Johnson is an associate attorney with The Nelson Law Firm. He concentrates his practice on construction defect litigation on behalf of homeowners, homeowners associations, and construction professionals. He is licensed to practice in all state and federal courts in Colorado and is a member of the Colorado and Denver Bar Associations.

Prior to joining The Nelson Law Firm, Mr. Johnson worked at a boutique law firm in Denver where he represented Colorado's largest general contractors and real estate developers in cases involving homeowners associations and multi-family developments.  He has defended his clients against design, development, and construction claims, along with fire causation, personal injury, and Colorado Consumer Protection Act claims. He has also represented developers and construction professionals in cases involving single family homes and commercial developments. His experience representing one of Colorado’s largest home builders gives him unique insight when representing homeowners and subcontractors.

Mr. Johnson received his undergraduate degree from University of Minnesota-Duluth, graduating with distinction, and his law degree from the University of Denver. In his final year of law school, Mr. Johnson was elected by his peers as the Most Outstanding Academic at the University of Denver’s Sturm College of Law.  He was a member of the University of Denver Civil Litigation Clinic, where he represented low-income clients in domestic violence and landlord-tenant cases.  Mr. Johnson also proudly served in the Minnesota and Colorado Air National Guard from 2004 - 2011.

In his free time, Mr. Johnson can either be found cheering on his favorite Minnesota and Colorado sports teams, or participating in triathlons and adventure races.
