Stephen Jacobs has over 30 years of legal experience, including over 25 years of insurance coverage, professional liability, and commercial litigation in state and federal courts in New York and numerous other jurisdictions. Steve's insurance experience has spanned primary, umbrella, and excess coverages for GL, OCIP, media, D&O, E&O, SMP, professional liability, RRP, and EIL coverages in the context of toxic tort and other personal injury, construction defect, environmental, IP, and other types of commercial claims. Steve has defended accountants, lawyers, insurance brokers and others facing a wide variety of statutory and common law claims, including Rule 10b-5, RICO, GBL, fraud, and malpractice claims arising out of a host of circumstances from shareholder disputes to Madoff's Ponzi scheme. Since 2005, Steve has been involved in defending Sherman Act, RICO, and other claims asserted against an insurance group in MDL litigation. Steve also writes and speaks on various topics, including insurance coverage, claims handling, and professional liability defense, in connection with training programs at the firm, various clients, and elsewhere.
