Prior to joining Gentile, Horoho & Avalli, P.C. as an associate, where she practices family law and civil litigation, Mrs. Smith began her career with a large Pittsburgh law firm gaining extensive litigation and trial experience in a myriad of practice areas including family law.
Beyond her practice, Mrs. Smith is a member of the Magee-Womens Executive Council which raises awareness of the endeavors of Magee-Womens Hospital and Magee-Womens Research Institute and Foundation. She is also a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Commission on Women in the Profession.
While earning her law degree from Wake Forest University School of Law, Mrs. Smith taught legal research and writing to first and second year students and worked in the legal department of R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company. Upon her 2003 graduation, Mrs. Smith was awarded the National Association of Women Lawyers award, as well as the North Carolina Academy of Trial Lawyers Most Outstanding Advocate award. Mrs. Smith graduated magna cum laude from the University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and English Writing in 2000.
Mrs. Smith has presented numerous continuing legal education courses on topics ranging from electronic discovery to meeting client expectations.
Mrs. Smith is admitted to practice law in Pennsylvania and West Virginia and before the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia.
