James A. Slowikowski received his Juris Doctorate degree from DePaul University of College of Law in June, 1987 after having received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from DePaul University in June, 1984. Prior to joining Dickler, Kahn, Slowikowski & Zavell, LTD., Mr. Slowikowski practiced with the Chicago firm of Margolin & Aronson where his primary responsibility was in the areas of real estate, corporate, construction and commercial litigation.
Mr. Slowikowski joined Marshall N. Dickler, Ltd. in May, 1991. Mr. Slowikowski, now a partner of the firm, continues to practice in the area of litigation and condominium and homeowner association law, including supervising all evictions, foreclosures and bankruptcy activities. Mr. Slowikowski was the lead counsel in a condominium association's lawsuit against a developer that resulted in a settlement of $2.3 million, which was named in Chicago Lawyer Magazine's October 2005 settlement survey as being one of the largest reported settlements in a non-personal injury case in Illinois. He continues to oversee and litigate homeowner association rules and covenants violation cases, commercial, collection and corporate litigation cases and represents for Profit and Not-for-Profit corporations and associations in all aspects of corporate and association matters.
Mr. Slowikowski is a member of the Trial Bar of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, Chicago Bar Association, Illinois State Bar Association, DuPage County Bar Association and Northwest Suburban Bar Association.
