Ryan Huschka is a senior associate in the Litigation/Controversy Department, and a member of the Business Trial Group and the Investigations and Criminal Litigation Practice Group. He joined the firm in 2008. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Huschka clerked for the Honorable Deanell Reece Tacha of the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit.
Practice
Mr. Huschka's practice focuses on complex business litigation, white collar criminal defense and internal corporate investigations. He has been involved in litigation matters before state and federal courts and across a broad range of business sectors. He has represented major corporations in a variety of parallel criminal and civil investigations by US government agencies, including the Department of Justice, Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations, Securities and Exchange Commission, and the Internal Revenue Service. Mr. Huschka has handled internal investigations into conduct in the United States, Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Latin America.
Mr. Huschka also maintains an active pro bono practice. He has authored briefs submitted to the Maryland Court of Appeals and Court of Special Appeals on behalf of criminal defendants, and recently argued before the Maryland Court of Special Appeals. He has also advised a Washington DC public charter school advocacy group on the legality of the annual DC budget process.
