Rachel Simpson Shockley is associate of Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP. She practices in Atlanta in the areas of business and commercial litigation, intellectual property law, copyright and trademark litigation and domestic law. A member of the State Bar of Georgia, Ms. Shockley is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia.
Prior to joining Nelson Mullins in 2004, Ms. Shockley was associated with other prominent firms in Atlanta and Savannah, Georgia. From 1997-99, she served as an education program specialist for the Carl Vinson Institute of Government at the University of Georgia.
In 2002, Ms. Shockley earned a Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of Georgia School of Law where she served on the editorial board of the Journal of Intellectual Property Law. She is the author of The Digital Millennium Copyright Act and the First Amendment: Can They Be Friends? (Spring 2002). In 1997, Ms. Shockley earned a Bachelor of Arts in English, cum laude, from the University of Georgia.
