Christen Shepherd is a solo practitioner concentrating in the area of Family Law.  She enjoys working with families in an effort to resolve their disputes and move forward with their lives in a more peaceful manner, whenever possible.  Ms. Shepherd has associated with Kansas City firms in the areas of federal criminal defense, plaintiff's personal injury and insurance defense, and creditor collections. 

Ms. Shepherd is on the board of directors for The Lawyers Association of Kansas City, a public service oriented organization.  With this organization, she is chair of the committee for public education in the law and helps put on the Mini Law School for the Public each year.  Ms. Shepherd is also a member of The Missouri Bar and its Solo and Small Firm Committee and a member of the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association, and its Domestic Relations Committee.  She received her B.S. degree in advertising from The University of Texas at Austin in 1987 and worked in advertising before pursuing law school.  She received her J.D. degree from the University of Missouri at Kansas City in 1999, where she served on the Law Review, the Moot Court Board, and the UMKC Trial Team.  Ms. Shepherd was awarded the Tiera Farrow Outstanding Community Member award in April, 2011 by the UMKC chapter of the Association of Women Law Students for community service in support of women in the law.  She is a member of the Order of Barristers, and admitted to practice in Missouri and Kansas.
