Dan Sheckler enjoys court proceedings and jury trials. He has significant experience litigating serious criminal offenses, as well as civil disputes.
Much of his litigation practice involves criminal defense, family law, real estate, and various other civil disputes.
Dan was born and raised in northern Idaho. He graduated from Moscow High School, North Idaho College, and the University of Idaho. While in law school at the University of Idaho, Dan worked as a teaching assistant to instruct first-year law students in legal research and writing. He interned with the law firm of Walker and Pattinson, and worked on criminal defense and personal injury cases.
Following law school, Dan passed the Idaho and Washington Bar exams on his first attempts and began working at the Bonner County Public Defender's office, representing indigent criminal defendants. Then in the fall of 2008, Dan joined the firm of Powell and Reed in Sandpoint Idaho. While working there, Dan handled many complex criminal and civil cases.
Dan recently joined the firm of Owens and Crandall, where he practices in the area of criminal defense and civil litigation.
Dan and his wife Lisa are both avid skiers. They also enjoy camping, hiking, fly-fishing, and otherwise spending time outside in beautiful Idaho.
