Stephen A. Shechtel is admitted to the Maryland Court of Appeals, District of Columbia Court of Appeals, U.S. District Court for the Districts of Maryland and District of Columbia, the U.S. Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the U.S. Supreme Court. Mr. Shechtel graduated from the District of Columbia School of Law, magna cum laude (third in class) in 1992. Mr. Shechtel is a Maryland Certified Public Accountant, and has held licenses as a: NASD Securities Dealer (Series 7 & 63), Mortgage Banker-Broker (Principal's license: FL, AZ, NJ); Mortgage Loan Underwriter (FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA); Health and Life Insurance Agent and Real Estate Sales Agent.

Mr. Shechtel is a member of the Maryland State Bar Association, Montgomery County Bar Association, District of Columbia Bar Association and the Inns of Court. Mr. Shechtel has lived in Montgomery County for most of his life. He is married and has raised two daughters. Mr. Shechtel is past President of the Maryland Saltwater Sportsfishermen's Association, past President of the Frederick Chapter for the Maryland Saltwater Sportsfishermen's Association, and a member of the Montgomery County Chapter of Harley Owners Group (HOG).
