Most of Ms. Hodge's work focuses on defending employers and insurance carriers against claims arising under the Louisiana Workers' Compensation Act. In addition, she has experience defending employment discrimination, toxic tort, automobile, trucking, LHWCA and class action lawsuits.
She received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Economy with an emphasis on Philosophy from Tulane University in New Orleans in 1990. She received her Doctor of Jurisprudence in 1993 from Southern Methodist University School of Law in Dallas, Texas.
Following graduation from law school, Ms. Hodge moved to Austin, Texas and entered public service as an Assistant Hearing Officer for the Texas Natural Resource Conservation Commission. She went on to serve as a Contested Case Hearing Officer for the Texas Workers' Compensation Commission where she authored over 800 decisions regarding workers' compensation issues. Ms. Hodge was a frequent speaker to both public and private groups in Texas on spinal injuries, overuse syndromes and the proper use of the AMA's Guide to the Evaluation of Permanent Impairment. After stepping down from that position in 1999, she relocated to New Orleans, Louisiana where she began a private practice defending employers and insurance carriers throughout the State of Louisiana.
Ms. Hodge is licensed to practice law in Texas and Louisiana and is a member of the New Orleans Association of Defense Counsel, the New Orleans Bar Association and the State Bar of Texas.
