Bill Hine practices in the areas of complex international and commercial litigation, class action lawsuits, securities and contract law, and international and domestic arbitration. He defends foreign and domestic corporations and individuals in lawsuits arising out of mergers and acquisitions, corporate auctions, securities offerings and accounting restatements, as well as construction, real estate, and other contracts. He has litigated complex corporate issues before the Delaware Court of Chancery and the Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation and has defended clients in connection with SEC investigations.
Bill has defended foreign clients in U.S. securities class actions, including Asia Pulp & Paper, Royal Bank of Scotland, and SunOpta. He represented Madison Square Garden in an antitrust action against the National Hockey League and Lehman Brothers Holdings in a matter relating to its bankruptcy. Bill has experience litigating claims under the Alien Tort Claims Act, and he has defended foreign and domestic clients against claims arising from the Nazi Holocaust and American slavery.
Bill is a member of the bars in New York and Florida. He completed the National Institute of Trial Advocacy program in 2004. Bill also supervises the pro bono political asylum project in the Firm's New York Office.
