Hemphill, Robert D.

Bob graduated from Wesleyan University in 1974 and New England School of Law in 1979. He has worked as a carpenter, truck driver, and concrete finisher, all of which gave him a personal perspective on the problems of injured workers.

While Bob is admitted to the practice of law in Washington, Massachusetts, and Pennsylvania, he maintains an inactive status in the latter two jurisdictions. For the last 30 years, his primary areas of practice have included personal injury and Workers' Compensation law, although for the last fifteen years his practice has been almost exclusively Workers' Compensation. Bob joined The Walthew Law Firm in 2008. 

He has been a presenter at workshops and seminars for both professional and lay groups on issues involving Workers' Compensation law. 

Bob is past co-chair (facilitator) of the Washington State Deaf-Blind Task Force, past Chair of the King County Bar Association Committee on Legal Problems of the Disadvantaged, past President of the Board of Daybreak Family Homes, and a founding Board Member of the Washington State Deaf-Blind Service Center.  Bob also volunteers his time as a speaker before cancer support groups, as a special service provider for the Deaf-Blind community and was a long-time volunteer with VAPWA (Volunteer Attorneys for Persons with AIDS).

A two-time All-American football player in college, Bob enjoys less vigorous recreational pursuits at this time, including playing the Irish fiddle and enjoying music in all its forms.
