Emily E. Schnidt graduated from the John Marshall Law School in 2009. During law school, Emily was a member of the trial advocacy team and competed in the Herzog Moot Court competition. Prior to entering law school, Emily earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign and was the captain of the nationally ranked mock trial team.
Prior to joining DeAno & Scarry, Emily’s litigation experience included representing both plaintiffs and defendants in cases involving civil rights violations, business and personal contract disputes, commercial litigation, employment law, personal injury and nursing home negligence. Through that experience, Emily has been given numerous opportunities to defend cases in both state and federal courts and draft an appeal to the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. Emily is admitted to practice in the State of Illinois and the Northern District of Illinois.
Emily also volunteers her time at Chicago Volunteer Legal Services, assisting under-privileged individuals in the areas of divorce, adoption, guardianship and other probate issues. She currently serves as the Second Chairperson for the Junior Board of Chicago Volunteer Legal Services and previously served as the Chairperson for ChildServ.
