In Memoriam
Lawrence W. Schad (1945-2010) was a founding director of Schad, Diamond & Shedden, P.C. Mr. Schad was also a champion sailor, enthusiastic golfer and world traveler. While Mr. Schad was a director of the firm, Schad, Diamond & Shedden, P.C. recovered millions of dollars for victims of consumer fraud and obtained large cy pres awards for many charitable and legal aid organizations, including the Chicago Bar Foundation and the Legal Assistance Foundation of Metropolitan Chicago.
Mr. Schad had over thirty years of experience representing consumer and other clients in class actions and commercial litigation, and had represented international clients in multi-billion dollar litigation. Mr. Schad received his J.D. from the University of Michigan in 1970, where he was an editor of the Prospectus-Journal of Law Reform. Mr. Schad received his B.A. from Denison University with high honors in 1967. He was a member of the American Bar Association, the Chicago Bar Association, and the Barrister American Inns of Court (Chicago Lincoln Inns Chapter).
