Vic Savikas focuses on handling intellectual property litigation, and he has broad experience in trying complex patent cases. Vic is coordinator of the IP practice in the Firm's Los Angeles Office. He has taught litigation strategy and technique at DePaul University College of Law (1976-1978) and also has published a number of articles dealing with evidence, civil procedure, and patent litigation. Vic regularly lectures on trying patent litigation cases to a jury.
Vic is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and a member of the ABA, the Los Angeles County Bar Association, and the Los Angeles Intellectual Property Law Association and has served on committees of several of these associations. He was chairman of the Federal Civil Practice Committee of The Chicago Bar Association (1976) and co-chairman of the Corporate Counsel Committee of The Federal Circuit Bar Association (1976-1977). As a member of The Chicago Bar Association Defense of Prisoners Committee, he represented indigent defendants accused of felonies.
Vic has contributed articles to the Chicago Bar Record, the Illinois Institute of Continuing Legal Education, and The National Law Journal and was co-editor of the CAFC Newsletter cosponsored by the Appellate Practice Committee of the American Bar Association and The Federal Circuit Bar Association. He was a member of the Special Commission on the Administration of Justice in Cook County, Illinois from 1987 to 1990 (the "Greylord Commission").
