Mardi is a shareholder in the firm of Briggs and Morgan, Professional Association. She is a member of the Trade Regulation Section. Mardi has experience in a wide variety of practice areas, including:
Mardi concentrates her litigation practice in the areas of mortgage banking class action defense, intellectual property, securities and general commercial matters. Most recently, Mardi obtained summary judgments for mortgage lenders in yield spread premium/broker compensation and Fair Debt Collection Practices Act cases.
Mardi co-authored a chapter entitled "Private RICO Actions in the Commercial Context," which was published in the Matthew Bender treatise Business Torts. Mardi has spoken at various seminars on financial services and unfair competition subjects.
Mardi is a member of the Ramsey County, Minnesota State and American Bar associations. She has been a faculty member at trial advocacy skills seminars sponsored by the National Institute of Trial Advocacy, an attorney-coach in the Mock Trial Competition sponsored by the Minnesota State Bar Association, and was formerly a member of the Ramsey County Bar District Ethics Committee. She volunteers for Legal Assistance of Ramsey County and also provides pro bono publico legal services under the auspices of Minnesota Advocates for Human Rights and Southern Minnesota Regional Legal Services.
Born in Fargo, North Dakota, Mardi received her B.A. from Smith College, Northampton, Massachusetts, and her law degree cum laude from William Mitchell College of Law. Mardi joined Briggs and Morgan in 1978.
