Professional Experience

My first job was civil litigation for a large law firm in Vancouver Washington. I then tried cases in the Washington County District Attorneys office, where I was advanced to managing the misdemeanor trial unit and assigned to major felony cases before juries. For ten years, I was the traffic court judge in Hillsboro Oregon and presided over many cases involving auto accidents. In private practice, I’ve represented clients injured by negligent drivers, and currently manage the personal injury team at Harris Law firm.

My years of experience in jury trials and traffic related accidents, as well as my management and negotiations background provide my clients a unique package of skills and knowledge.

Outside Activities

I believe community service is a duty for people who have the time and energy. I currently serve on the Hillsboro School Board Bond review committee where I can contribute my knowledge about constructing and financing to better our schools. I am a Board member of the Hillsboro Library Foundation, which is committed to supporting literacy and libraries, and which raised one million dollars recently to help fund the new Hillsboro main library. I'm a former member of the Washington County Juvenile Crime Prevention Committee, the Hillsboro Library Board (including two years as its chairperson), Commissioner for the Washington County Commission on Children and Families, and Board member of the Clark County Washington Head Start.

I will review the issue that brought you into my office, analyze all aspects of that issue and develop a plan of action assessing your risks or opportunities. My background in virtually all areas of the law and my business background in owning and operating non-legal businesses, give me a unique perspective that I use to my clients benefit.
