Harris, Maria E.

Jim Harmon is a founding member of Harmon, Smith and Vourvoulias.  Originally from Tallulah, Louisiana, Jim attended Louisiana State University and graduated Magna Cum Laude in May of 1984.  Mr. Harmon worked for the Louisiana House of Representatives as an analyst before entering law school.   He attended Tulane University School of Law receiving his Juris Doctorate and being admitted to the bar in 1988.  He has practiced primarily in the areas of personal injury litigation, DUI/DWI defense, insurance defense, business and commercial litigation and casualty and has represented many individuals as well as corporate and institutional clients.  Jim is licensed to practice before all Louisiana State and Federal Courts and he has prepared briefs filed with the United States Supreme Court.

Additionally, and in connection with the real estate and other services offered through the firm’s partnership with Stone Title, Mr. Harmon serves as a Notary Public and a title insurance agent/producer.
