Gurney, Renee M.

My practice focuses primarily on business, entertainment, and intellectual property litigation. I regularly represent clients in cases involving breach of contract, fraud, copyright and/or trademark infringement, slander and libel, unfair competition, and misappropriation of trade secrets, among others. My clients range from individual artists, entertainers, and entrepreneurs to investment funds, internet marketing firms, record labels, and production companies.

I regularly appear in both federal and state trial courts throughout California, and have argued before the California Court of Appeal.

I have been named a “Southern California Super Lawyer -- Rising Star” by Law & Politics and Los Angeles Magazine each year since 2008.

I previously served on the Board of Directors of the California Young Lawyers Association, one of the governing bodies of the State Bar of California and the nation's largest association of young lawyers, and I am a current volunteer member of the California Lawyers for the Arts.

I received my J.D. from Harvard Law School in 2001 and am a 1996 graduate of Columbia University
