Jaimi Groothuis was born and raised in Southern California. She comes to Berman More Gonzalez with a strong passion for serving her community and those with special needs. Jaimi received her undergraduate degree from UCLA, where she focused on working with disabled individuals through the UCLA Autism Project and the LA Unified School District. Following graduation Jaimi pursued a successful career in the high tech industry where worked with college and university disability centers around the country supporting their efforts to leverage technology, strengthen ADA compliance and expand accessibility.
Ms. Groothuis completed her law degree at night while working full time. She graduated from Concord University in the top 10% of her class, and was awarded the honor "Best Oral Advocate". Ms. Groothuis now focuses her practice on large and catastrophic personal injury, wrongful death, premises liability and products liability cases. She is committed to advocating for clients injured as a result of individual or corporate wrongdoing and ensuring that they receive fair and just compensation for their losses. Since joining the firm in 2010, Ms. Groothuis has successfully recovered millions of dollars for the clients of Berman More Gonzalez.
Ms. Groothuis currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Orange County Women Lawyers Association and chairs the 2013 Membership Committee. She also sits on the Board of Governors for the California Women Lawyers and serves on the Technology and Amicus Brief Committees. Ms. Groothuis continues as an active member of the Banyard Inn of Court, the Orange County Trial Lawyers Association, and the Orange County Bar Association.
