Veerle Roovers' practice is concentrated in the area of business restructuring and reorganization. She has advised debtors and significant creditors in complex chapter 11 cases as well as in out-of-court and cross-border debt restructurings. Veerle has also advised investors seeking to acquire distressed companies. In addition, she provides insolvency-related advice to international Firm clients.
Prior to joining Jones Day, she was an associate at a Brussels law firm where she focused on corporate bankruptcies and corporate litigation. She has represented clients in multiple proceedings before the Belgian courts and courts of appeal.
Born and raised in Belgium, Veerle is fluent in Dutch, French, and English and is proficient in Spanish. She is a member of the American Bar Association and the New York State Bar Association.
