William E. Rittenberg, J.D., is a 1970 graduate of Tulane Law School. He has been practicing law in Louisiana for over thirty years. Mr. Rittenberg has served as judge Ad Hoc for the Juvenile Court for the City of New Orleans. He is a 1971 graduate of the National College of Advocacy, Hastings Law School, and is a 1976 Graduate Fellow of the Loyola Institute of Politics.
Mr. Rittenberg is a past-president of the Louisiana Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. He is known for his advocacy in civil rights cases, having won fundamental rights for individuals and organizations on constitutional issues. Mr. Rittenberg has helped plan, chair, or lecture at over one hundred national seminars on continuing legal education. He is licensed to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Middle, and Western Districts of Louisiana, and in all Louisiana state courts. He is married to Paulette Halpern Rittenberg.
