Dr. Roger Rich has extensive experience representing companies in areas of patent law related to biotechnology and pharmaceuticals. Dr. Rich advises clients in the strategic development, management, and prosecution of patent portfolios involving technologies such as small molecule pharmaceuticals, genetic analyses, molecular diagnostics, biologics, nutraceuticals, and transgenic animals, among others. Representative clients include start-up companies, established companies, academic institutions, and investment firms.
In addition to patent procurement and portfolio management, Dr. Rich advises clients regarding patentability, validity, infringement, and freedom-to-operate issues and performs due diligence evaluations of patent portfolios for possible investment, licensing, or acquisition.
Prior to joining Jones Day, Dr. Rich was an associate at Pennie & Edmonds LLP.
