Jonathan A. Rich joined Zashin & Rich Co., L.P.A. in 1993. Prior to becoming an attorney, Jonathan managed residential and industrial real estate. At Zashin & Rich, Jonathan's practice includes all areas of real estate, including drafting contracts for the lease, acquisition and sale of residential, commercial and industrial real estate. His practice includes real estate transactions as well as adversarial real estate proceedings such as: defending clients that have been cited for zoning, building or housing code violations, and representing both plaintiffs and defendants in partition, quiet title, foreclosure and forcible entry and detainer litigation.
Jonathan's real estate knowledge has also contributed to his construction law practice. He has represented owners, contractors and subcontractors in contract negotiations and complex litigation regarding both public and private projects. His knowledge of Ohio's intricate mechanic's lien statutes has enabled him to advise clients and litigate lien rights including attested accounts on public projects.
Jonathan also concentrates in domestic relations. He has represented clients in complex custody litigation including interstate disputes and has successfully litigated domestic relations matters in common pleas courts throughout the State of Ohio, the Eighth and Eleventh District Courts of Appeals and the Ohio Supreme Court.
Jonathan also represents closely held businesses in the areas of corporate formation, general civil litigation and acquisitions.
Jonathan graduated with a degree of Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, cum laude, from the Ohio State University. At Ohio State, Jonathan majored in real estate and minored in city and regional planning. He earned his law degree (J.D.) from the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law. Jonathan is a member of the Cuyahoga County Bar Association.
