Jeannie Rhee is a partner in the firm's Litigation/Controversy Department, and a member of the Investigations and Criminal Litigation Practice Group. She rejoined the firm in 2011 after serving for two years as a Deputy Assistant Attorney General in the Office of Legal Counsel for the US Department of Justice. From 2000-2006, Ms. Rhee was an Assistant US Attorney in the US Attorney's Office for the District of Columbia. She serves as a co-chair of the Diversity Committee.
Practice
Ms. Rhee’s practice focuses on advising clients who are the subject of government investigations, including white collar criminal investigations, False Claims Act allegations and securities enforcement matters.
During her time with the US Department of Justice, Ms. Rhee advised the Attorney General, the White House, and senior agency officials on issues regarding criminal law, criminal procedure, executive privilege, civil rights, and national security.

While an Assistant US Attorney in the Fraud and Public Corruption section of the US Attorney's Office for the District of Columbia, Ms. Rhee conducted numerous grand jury investigations and prosecuted cases involving mail and wire fraud, health care fraud, bribery, money laundering, false statements and conspiracy, among other offenses. She also served as a legislative fellow in the office of then Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle and as a counsel in the US Department of Justice’s Office of Legal Policy.
Professional Activities
Ms. Rhee has served as a co-chair of the Criminal Litigation Committee of the American Bar Association’s Section of Litigation; an adjunct professor at Georgetown University; president of the Yale Law School Alumni Association of Washington, DC; and a member of the US District Court Standing Committee on Electronic Case Filing.
Honors and Awards
Ms. Rhee was the recipient of four special achievement awards for her work in each of the trial sections in which she served at the US Attorney's Office.
