After graduation from the City University of New York School of Law, Robert Reno spent 10 years with the Criminal Defense Division of New York City’s Legal Aid Society where he represented hundreds of defendants on a wide variety of criminal matters. Mr. Reno understands that effective advocacy begins with the pre-arraignment interview, requires a thorough factual investigation, and continues through the jury trial, as each individual case may require.

Mr. Reno has a long record of trial successes including many successful defenses based on insanity defense. He currently defends clients in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania where he emphasizes defending clients from accusations of sexual abuse in custody matters and child protective actions. As the government has increased criminal penalties for sex crimes and increasingly employs civil commitment procedures to retain offenders when prison sentences have expired, Mr. Reno has aggressively and successfully defended the rights of individuals at Sex Offenders Registration hearings and mental health commitment hearings.
